About this policy

This policy describes the data practices of Off-hours, a native iPhone app developed by Benjamin Conrad. Off-hours uses Apple’s Screen Time features to block the work apps you choose outside your work hours, with on-call shifts, days off, and optional calendar import.

Data collected by the developer

None. The developer does not receive or store personal data, usage data, identifiers, diagnostics, calendar content, or information about the apps you use. Off-hours contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track users across apps or websites.

Screen Time

Off-hours asks for Screen Time access through Apple’s Family Controls framework so it can block the apps, categories, and websites you pick. You choose them in Apple’s own picker; the app only receives opaque tokens from iOS and cannot see which apps they stand for, what else is installed, or how you use your device. iOS applies the block on the device. You can revoke access at any time in Settings › Screen Time.

Calendar access

Calendar access is optional and only used if you select a holiday or work calendar. Off-hours then reads the events of the selected calendars for the next 60 days on the device (title, start and end time, whether the event is all-day, shown as free, or declined) to find public holidays, days off, on-call shifts, and meetings outside work hours. Calendars you do not select are not read. Off-hours never creates, changes, or deletes calendar events. You can revoke access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars.

Information stored on your device

The app stores only the information needed to work:

  • your work hours, on-call shifts, days off, and overrides;
  • the Screen Time tokens for the apps, categories, and websites you selected;
  • the selected calendars, your keywords, and the titles and times of the holidays, on-call shifts, and meetings imported from them.

This information is kept in the app’s private storage, shared only with the app’s own Screen Time extension on the same device, and is not available to the developer.

Sharing, sale, and tracking

The developer does not sell personal information, use it for advertising, create advertising profiles, share it with data brokers, or track users. Off-hours does not send information to anyone.

Retention and deletion

The developer retains no user information. Entries you add can be deleted in the app, and imported calendar entries disappear when you deselect the calendar. Deleting the app removes its data and the blocks it set, subject to your operating system’s storage and backup behavior.

Children’s privacy

Off-hours is a general-audience productivity app for managing your own device and is not directed to children. It does not collect children’s personal information.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the app’s functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
